Hello Rev. Pukuta Mwanza. How was your way back home?

We had a good time with you at Mindolo Ecumenical Foundation last week. I personally appreciate you as EFZ for your Envisioning program which came at a time I most needed it. You men and women of God are quite inspiring and motivating. I began to like you very much with your Resource Mobilization lessons. I did not know that apart from preaching, you could also teach such lessons. Rev you are very educated and I thanked God for having such men of God who are so learned as you are in the Body of Christ..

Thank you so very much Man of God, for equipping us with the tools to serve our Almighty God most effectively and efficiently. That Envisioning was so motivative and inspiring!

A British couple donates for Martin!

I recently shared a story about Martin who after serving 8 years of jail sentence at a maximum prison in Zambia was recently released on 6^th August 2007 through a Presidential pardon.

Martin approached me because he is one of the inmates we visited at the prison along with others and he shared about the testimony of his miraculous release from prison and the problems of having to settle down in the community. He needs clothes, beddings and money to renew his driver’s licence so that he can look for a job as a driver.

A British couple that read the story on this blog, Matt & Polly Freer were the first to respond to the appeal for Martin this afternoon and donated clothes and beddings. Until today, Matt and Polly were working in Zambia where Matt was an Advocacy Consultant with Micah Challenge Zambia and Polly was a Learning Coordinator with Jubille Centre both based in Ndola – Zambia. The couple returns to the UK today and leaves behind their selfless service to the communities and churches that they have worked with during their mission work in Zambia. Farewell!

Additional help is still needed for Martin and you may be in a position to share whatever you have to enable Martin have basic things to restart his life and be a productive citizen. Martin became a Christian while in prison and he narrated how that people that have served long term jail sentence often go back to their crime because of a lack of acceptance by the society. Rejection and stigma prevents former convicts from reforming and exacerbates their already vulnerable condition. Let’s help Martin find people that care and love. You could pray for him or donate material provisions. I will ensure that all the help is handed over to Martin as soon as it is provided. Thank you for your response!

Martin is released from jail but needs help to settle down!

Martin was arrested in 1999 for aggravated robbery, born again in prison and pardoned!

I received a phone call last week from Martin Matuhu who we had visited a number of times with my wife and other church members when he was serving sentence for aggravated robbery. Martin was arrested in 1999 and was convicted in 2001. While in prison at the, he heard the gospel of Jesus Christ and he became a Christian. Through friends in the UK, we were introduced to Martin and we included him on the list of the inmates we visited.

In the first week of August 2007, after 8 years of jail life, Martin was released from prison through a Presidential pardon that saw 7 out of more than 1000 inmates set free. This was nothing short of God’s miracle. He is free at last!!. He narrated a story to me about the difficulties he is facing as he cannot get help from anywhere because of his past life. He has been has been changed and he wants to settle down and be a good citizen.

Martin has a driving licence and is believing God for a job as a driver. Before he can get a job, he needs support for beddings, clothes and some money to renew his driver’s licence.

I am so thankful to God that Martin has walked to freedom by God’s miraculous power! Anyone intending to help Martin can contact me and together we can help him to settle down. You can contribute to Martin’s need by supporting him materially or prayerfully or both. Whatever your help, it will make a difference! This is the second inmate to be pardoned among those that we closely monitored and visited at the Maximum prison. Miracles are happening today. Thanks to the Republican President His Excellence Levy Patrick Mwanawasa SC for acting in such a gracious manner. He has done his part, we must do ours too.

For about two weeks now, the Lord has been speaking to me about what I can do for the community with my skills in Community & Rural Development. I felt the Lord telling me to share my skills with Faith Based Organizations (FBOs), Churches, NGOs and CBOs involved in community service in Zambia. I want to donate my experience and professional or technical skills with organizations that need it in order to place their programs on a cutting edge of competence and to enhance organizational effectiveness. I am now giving free - 5 hours per month for training and consultancy in any area of community development, management of nonprofit organizations, strategic planning, sustainable fundraising, leadership, management and church administration.
